yes. sure. why not. I mean you can have *tutors* like a math tutor that comes like once every day or so and you can have that for science and other subjects and she can still go to school and participaate but she can also get help with the tutors.

Indeed there is! Theres an online homeschool program called Connections Academy and its registered as a public school but offers very advanced classes. They also offer summer school courses. What you could do is she could take a class or two at the public school and then take the rest online or vise versa? Go online to connectionsacademy.com and see if they offer it in your state. If not you can check and see if there are any Sylvan centers near by or even a community college that would offer highschool classes. Bascially what it would come down to is how many credits she needs to graduate and she could even graduate early if she did summer school. =) Let me know if you have anymore questions! I was homeschooled for all of highschool online and I loved it!

That depends on the laws where you live. Some states allow homeschoolers to dual enroll in the local public school, others allow participation in extra curriculars only and some do not allow any access at all.

However even if allowed, why would you want her to participate in activities when as you said the school has problems. you would be much better off finding homeschool activities for her to participate in.

Home schooling just means her education will be at home & not in a classroom. There is no “you have to do it this way, you cannot do it that way” method of home schooling (barring laws/requirements in your area). If she’s able to participate in activities at her current school while home schooling, she should. Socialization is important, & that would definitely help. Go for it. Home schooling is a great experience. Be sure your records are good. Get in touch with local home school groups to see what you need to do in your area, because it varies.

There is something called a university model school that is part-time school/part-time homeschooling. The schools are Christian, though I suspect there are secular schools that follow a similar schedule. You’ll need to do a little research to see if you can find any in your area. These schools usually meet 3 days a week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Some might argue this isn’t homeschooling, but if it works for you……

Here is a link:

There is always the possibility of enrolling for one or two classes in the public school depending on what your state laws are.

Hope this helps.
