I am just curious what the lifestyle is like. I would enjoy working with the kids and would possibly want to coach too.

My major is Secondary Special Education. Positives are you get out of work at a decent time most days, weekends off, and of course summers off. Also, when you know that you have taught a child something you can see them light up (I know clique right). Anyway, negatives are that it can be a lot of paperwork with lesson plans and correcting papers. Also, there are some students that are seriously out to just get under your skin it seems. It is a rewarding job though. If you would also plan on coaching, then you also build a bond with some of the students outside of the classroom. I think what is really important is that you have patience and can be a good disciplinarian if you have those two qualities you will be ok.
