In some cases yes, in others no. It depends on the situation.

I agree. Home-schooling sucks. But it is a good thing for parents to have at least some control over their kids. It will dicsipline the child when s/he grows up.

I agree

It is more healthy for children to be experienced to being around peers of their own age so that they can develop important social skills. The best place to do this is as a school.

Indeed, I agree with you. Not to forget that each family has the right to control them self, also.

Maybe the child is bullied and tormented at public schools and their parents can’t afford private school. Maybe a child simply learns better in their home setting. Maybe the child WANTED to be home schooled. Don’t judge before you know the person and their situation.

My wife suffers from home school syndrome. You are right about many cases, including hers. But there are genuine people who feel that bad behaviors comes from bad kids who have bad parents. To limit the exposure of the cliques giving “handies” and other sexual behaviors, and peer pressure, some parents do home school out of love. Nothing like this has only one type of person involved. Stereotyping never wins.

All the home school kids that I have gone to school with have appeared to be socially maladjusted. They are always the kids who have trouble making friends/have very few friends or the kids who get made fun of.

Home schooling, in general, is a bad idea in my opinion. While the kid may be able to move at a faster/slower pace, the child will miss out of valuable social skills needed.

Your idea also sounds highly plausible.

I kinda agree with that. My friend was homeschooled up up high school. Her parents were controlling, but she did a lot of modeling as a young girl. So I think that had something to do with it.

But some parents just think their kids get a better education at home.

i agree for the most part but some kids just ask for getting home schooled by getting them selves in to trouble. and yes parents can be control freaks. :D

I don’t know, i have 3 kids, and 2 of them are in public schools (the other isn’t quiet old enough for school) and i prefer them in school, i like them making friends, kids need social skills! i think some parents just “choose” home schooling because they either don’t like the schools in their district, or they are scared like “Columbine” shootings, drugs, and so on! but you can’t run from everything and you can’t always shelter your children from everything, they have to face the real world sometime!! I am in the middle, i think it is good for kids to go to school, but i do like being with my kids!

i agree on the most part
buttt there is also another reasons why some kids get homeschooled
one is that the people in their public school were mean to them
and that maybe they don’t like going to school with all those people
i have met people with both those problems
but yes have met poeple who dont want their kid to go to school because theyy have to be with there kids 24/7 or are contrall freaks
you are not being prejudice
so yes i do agree(on the most part)

Sometimes that is the case. I would have to say you are being extremely prejudice. I could never homeschool children, I don’t have the patience. My husband was Home-Schooled, but he also when to a Public School, A Reservation ( he is not native), and a Christian school. You don’t have to be a control freak or a Christian to be home-schooled either, anyone who disagrees with the public school curriculum and doesn’t have any private school options or doesn’t agree with those either would most likely home school. Just because someone doesn’t agree with something doesn’t make them controlling.. do you believe in everything Obama or Bush is doing/did.. possibly not.. does that make you controlling? No.. so home-schooling is another option. Maybe there isn’t a language class offered in elementary school along with other classes parent’s would like them to be exposed to that the school does not offer. Also some people can’t afford to send their kids to school so they have them home schooled at another person’s house with another group of people.. etc.. there a tons of other reasons why. Also most girls and boys are losing their virginity in 5th grade in public schools, anyone in their right mind I would hope wouldn’t want their fifth grader exposed to those situations.. so I can see why more people want to home school these days. I was public school through and through and I enjoyed it, but things are a little different now. Also if a child completely disagrees with wanting to be homes-chooled, they have a right to an opinion, yet they are a child and being a parent sometimes you make decisions for your kids for their best interest whether they hate you for it or not.

I think that that’s not always the case but i do think that kids shouldn’t be home schooled bacause it strips them of many experiences. Not only that but when they get into university it’s gonna be hard cause they’re not used to that sort of thing. Parents should think of the consequences of home schooling because in the long run is it really beneficial for them?

I disagree. Many parents choose to home school because they would like to include areas of study that are not offered in the public school system. The public school system is hampered by a number of things. State and Federal laws, high student to teacher ratio, crime, drugs, peer pressure, etc. It has been my experience that home schooled teens seem much more polite and respectful, have a better vocabulary, and a stronger work ethic. I understand this is not true in all cases but if I had children I would prefer to home school them.
